Charles Tabone

Charles Tabone is an educator, researcher, and consultant specialising in the application of generative AI in education. With over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and educational design, he combines practical classroom insight with advanced expertise in AI integration and policy. His Master’s dissertation, “A Comparative Exploration of Lecturers’ Attitudes towards Generative AI in Teacher Education,” examined how higher-education institutions can adopt AI ethically and effectively, leading to the design of multiple custom GPTs for real-world use in teacher training.
Alongside his work in education, Charles serves as a part-time Research Support Officer at the Centre for Labour Studies, University of Malta, contributing to European research on labour markets. He has led numerous AI innovation projects, including the creation of PSCD Pathfinder, ValEtika, and other bespoke educational GPTs that demonstrate how AI can enrich learning, creativity, and policy design.
Passionate about bridging technology and humanity, Charles founded GenAI Sandbox as a consultancy hub where educators and businesses can explore practical, ethical, and creative uses of AI through training, research, and hands-on experimentation.
